Splash City Golf Joins Havre de Grace Defender’s Day Celebration with Waterfront Golf Fun

Setting up a waterfront driving range at Concord Point Park in Havre de Grace, MD for their Defender’s Day Celebration

In early May, we had the pleasure of setting up a waterfront driving range on the shores of Havre de Grace, Maryland for their annual Defender’s Day Celebration—a vibrant community event that honors local history with family-friendly fun.

What Is Defender’s Day?

Defender’s Day in Havre de Grace, MD commemorates the bravery of John O’Neill, a local militia officer who famously defended the town from British forces during the War of 1812. The celebration is a tribute to the town’s historic resilience and waterfront heritage, bringing residents and visitors together with music, food, and festive waterfront activities.

Golf on the Bay: ZERO Balls + GolfShotBot

Attendees purchasing ZERO® balls for a chance to hit the floating golf target and win prizes.

For this year's celebration, we set up a pop-up waterfront golf experience right at Concord Point Park in downtown Havre de Grace. Attendees had the chance to purchase ZERO® Biodegradable Golf Balls, take aim at the GolfShotBot floating target, and enjoy the splash of their shot.

Each successful target hit earned participants an entry into a raffle for a grand prize, making every swing just a little more exciting. It was a great way for people to engage, compete, and enjoy the bay—without leaving any environmental impact behind.

Perfect Weather, Big Crowds, and... a Water-Skiing Squirrel?

The weather couldn’t have been better—blue skies, warm sun, and calm waters made for the ideal waterfront golf setting. Guests lined up to hit balls, listen to live music, explore food trucks, and yes... watch a squirrel perform tricks while water-skiing. It was the kind of quirky, joyful moment that makes community festivals like this so special.

Honoring History with a Splash of Fun

We’re proud to have been part of Defender’s Day—an event that beautifully blends history, community, and innovation. Being able to provide a unique, sustainable golf experience using ZERO® Biodegradable Golf Balls in such a meaningful setting was truly an honor.

Here’s to more events where we can Tee Off in Paradise™—and maybe hit a floating target or two.

Daniel may not be able to waterski as well as Twiggy the squirrel, but he can certainly hit a ZERO® Ball further into the Chesapeake Bay.
